Morning Stock Prep – Watchlist for May 14, 2019

Markets are opening up this morning and the VIX seems to have eased some.
Don’t see much that has changed, other than we had a rather large pull back yesterday, which made scanning for a watchlist very difficult this morning.

Today we’ll be looking for news, and mostly just watching to see how things set up and develop. We are still in a market which is touchy feely with the tariffs and geo-political news.

My thoughts are that the markets open and start to pull back some, then start to stabilize. If they open and run up, I would expect to see a pullback. My thinking is that many bigger players are going to be protecting their positions and stepping to cash or other commodities and some of them will be taking positions on companies that they like in the long term trying to get a discounted price

A senior Trump administration official said the differences between the U.S. and China are so profound that, based on his read of the situation, he can’t see the trade fight getting resolved before the end of the year. AXIOS
